I purchased this cordless telephone for my Mother, who is very hard of hearing, and she loves it. She can hear us so clearly and is very happy. I would recommend this phone.

The first DECT 6.0 amplified phone is finally here by GE and it delivers excellent range and sound quality. Some nice thinking went into features like amplified headset jack (2.5mm) and a vibrating ringer option. Also, a simple battery back up option is built into the base (using 4 "AAA" batteries). From an expandability standpoint, 3 additional handsets may be added to the base unit. This, coupled with a built-in answering machine provides some of the most sought out features for cordless amplified phones. The volume setting was a disappointment with only 4 volume settings in the "basic" mode and 4 settings in the "amplify" mode. By contrast, the Clarity C4220/C4230 has a thumbwheel volume control that goes from "0" to "50". This GE model is one of our favorite amplified cordless phones.
